Tables

A table is constructed out of several symbol sets.
Instructions Example
To begin a table, use the opening curly braces with the bar symbol {| Don't write anything here!
Actually, you can use the following on the opening line to give your table an outline: {| class="wikitable"
To give your table an overall title, use the bar symbol and the plus sign. |+Table title goes here!
Begin a new row with the bar symbol and the dash. |-
If you want your table to have headers like mine, use the exclamation point instead of the bar for the first row. !Header 1 !!Header 2!!Header 3
Use this blank spot after every row to begin a new one! |-
To begin a cell in a row, use the bar symbol. |Cell 1 text
Cell 2 text
Cell 3 text
Every |-
Or you can simply separate cells in the same row with a double bar. |First cell text||Second cell text||Third cell text
single |-
row! |-
To end your table, simply use the opposite curly brace. |}
Demonstration
+Title
Heading 1!!Heading 2!!Heading 3
1,1||2,1||3,1
1,2||2,2||3,2
1,3||2,3||3,3
Title
Heading 1 Heading 2 Heading 3
1,1 2,1 3,1
1,2 2,2 3,2
1,3 2,3 3,3

In addition to the "class" element, tables can also take the "style" element from HTML and CSS styles can be directly applied to tables this way.

Tables (especially styles!) are not for the faint of heart, so ask an administrator if you need help!

Line break

A double line break automatically appears as a double line break.
But a single line break will do nothing without inserting the <br/> (or <br>, but <br/> is the proper notation) tag after each line break.

However! There is an extension installed on this wiki called "Poem."

Use the

text

tags to give formatting to songs and dance notations so you don't have to put <br/> next to everything! It will save you time and headaches!

Links

Internal link: Double square brackets produce an internal link. Main Page

Main Page

Internal link with alternate text: Place a bar "|" between the page linked to and the intended text to be visible. Isn't this fun!
Isn't this fun!

Internal link with trailing text: Place text immediately after the closing brackets to include them in the visible hyperlink. Main Pageinated

Note that if you link to the same page, you will not get a link: Formatting Formatting

Set an anchor in the page to be linked to: Uses a div tag: <div id="anchor">This is an anchored string</div>
This is an anchored string

Link to an anchored string: #video Go ahead! Try the link: #video !

Link to an anchored string with different text: Dance Video Go ahead! Try the link: Dance Video !

Redirect: Send someone off to another page if they go to one with only this code: #REDIRECT Main Page This might be annoying if you click it: #REDIRECT Main Page
Redirects should be the only thing on the page you want to redirect from. Use sparingly!

External link: Include the entire URL (including "http://") in the body of the text, and it will be automatically recognized as a link: http://jeremiah31project.com
A single square bracket will make it a number link for a cross reference to another site: [1]
You can add custom text by simply putting a space after the URL inside square brackets: Go to Jeremiah 31 Project! Go to the Jeremiah 31 Project!

Mailto link: Add "mailto:" to the beginning of a link to an email address: [mailto:admin@jeremiah31project.com Email me!] Email me!

Video Embed

Use the following tagging to embed a video:

"service" is the online platform used (e.g. youtube, vimeo, etc.). Most platforms are supported.

"id" is the actual link to the video.

"dimensions" is the video embed's size on the screen. You can use a single number (e.g. 400) to set the width, and the aspect ratio will remain the same as the original, or you can use two numbers with an 'x'

between them (e.g. 480x640) to set the aspect ration that you want. Usually the former will work just fine.

Example:
